Adrian Marmolejo Clarhed

Spain

As an artist and architect, I am strongly attracted to urban atmosphere and cityscapes due to my architectural background. Whereas I depict an existing location through my ‘Urban Vibrations series’ or if I intend to create something new from my imagination, the architectural play of volumes and shapes and concepts as perspective, depth and mood are always present in my work.
Cityscapes are the excuse to create new worlds with a figurative result while looking in detail abstract shapes, lines and shadows are building up the painting.

For me it is important that my work communicates a pictorial feel to it, no matter the amount of detail, nothing can match the strength and authority of a great wash.
