Lisa Traxler

United Kingdom

Lisa Traxler combines painting & form within her practice exploring associations with construction, assemblage & components. Her abstract work traverses the 2 & 3D divide & links the disciplines of painting & sculpture. Her studio is a converted RAF war-time bunker on the Isle of Wight’s south coast. Born in London, Traxler studied at Croydon Art College & Birmingham Polytechnic graduating with a BA Hons Degree in Fashion & Textiles.

The artist says: ‘The paint is applied, a juxtaposition of shade & tone creating rhythm across the surface activated one the shapes are assembled. The fragility & transience of the world & our architectural imprint on it are the physical environment that encourages my palette & expression.’

Traxler is an elected Member of the Royal Watercolour Society & a regular exhibitor at London’s Bankside Gallery, home of the Royal Watercolour Society. She is also a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors & The London Group. Her works can be viewed in public & private collections throughout the UK & Europe.
