Lisa Takahashi

United Kingdom

Lisa Takahashi’s colour filled paintings depict everyday life in harmonious hues and intriguing textures evoking mood and atmosphere. Her practice is process led, and drives her to find qualities within painting and printmaking that will help to interpret the spirit of a subject. Her belief is that experimentation with materials and techniques is essential to the development of creating compelling works of art, and that more often than not, the best works of art are unexpected, created when the artist is at their most engaged with the process, working intuitively.

Drawing is at the heart of all of Lisa’s artwork and is integral to idea development. Her work is influenced by the experimentation found in 20th Century Post Impressionism. In ‘Foetal’, Takahashi has employed both watercolour monotype and painting techniques to build layers of colour and texture.

Lisa Takahashi exhibits her work extensively in the UK. This is the artist's first exhibition in Italy.
