Luis German Garcia

Mexico

As a visual artist and architect, my fascination with watercolor and the expression of architectural landscapes converges in a creative dialogue. Watercolor, with its unique ability to capture light and atmosphere, becomes my preferred tool to breathe life into urban spaces and delve into the history embedded in each building.

My connection with watercolor draws from a diverse palette of techniques, including oil, pastel, and acrylic. This diversity allows me to explore the versatility of mediums and express the richness of my perceptions. Deeply influenced by my father and his group of watercolorists, I have inherited not only technical skill but also a passion and tireless curiosity for the intersection of architecture and art.

With over 35 years of experience exhibiting, my artistic focus gravitates towards urban landscapes and their surroundings, driven by the need to reflect on the spaces we inhabit. My professional background in architecture propels me to wander through the streets, visit places that inspire my work, and capture the essence and emotional memory of each space in my creations.

Each stroke aims to capture the unique essence of buildings, rescuing their history and exploring the interaction between architecture and the surrounding environment. As an artist, I strive to unravel the living memory of places and share with the viewer the emotional connection I have with them.

The opportunity to create and express through art provides me with unparalleled freedom. I have showcased my exhibitions in various cities in Mexico and abroad, sharing my unique vision of architectural landscapes and my passionate interpretation of the spaces that surround us. In each artwork, I seek to invite the viewer to immerse themselves in the history of these places, contemplate the intrinsic beauty of architecture, and connect with the emotion that lies in the memory of each urban corner.
