Naomi Tydeman

Winner of the Turner Watercolour Prize, Naomi Tydeman is a self-taught watercolourist winning awards at a national level for her innovative styles and use of light and texture.
Naomi opened her own studio-gallery in Tenby in 1998, where the natural beauty of Pembrokeshire provides the inspiration for much of her work. Travels around the world have formed the subject of many solo exhibitions, while the ‘Evensongs’ collection toured Italy for six months. She has written numerous articles for art books and magazines, was featured in all six episodes of the TV series ‘The Harbour’. Elected in 2004 Naomi Tydeman is a member of the prestigious Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours. The RI was set up over 200 years ago to celebrate the tradition, discipline and skill of watercolour painting and represents the best of the genre in Britain today. Naomi served on the RI Council for seven years as Exhibitions Secretary and Membership Secretary.
