I live on the border between Italy and Slovenia, a vibrant threshold suspended between a vivid past and a present in constant reconciliation. My artistic research unfolds through a journey embracing the places I love: the Isonzo River, the Grado Lagoon, and the Karst landscape with its “Black Pines” overlooking the Gulf of Trieste.These are the main subjects among a path that began after my studies at the State Art Institute Max Fabiani in Gorizia in 1979. Afterwards, I worked as a ceramic artisan and became a founding member of the social artisan cooperative “La Felce.”I continued my education at the International School of Graphics in Venice, and worked as an intaglio printmaker before opening my own art studio in Gradisca d’Isonzo.I had the honor of being part of the Regional Consortium “La Torre di Villa Manin,” dedicated to promoting artistic craftsmanship in Friuli Venezia Giulia. In particular, I paint the Black Pine, defined as a “pioneer plant” because it adapts even to shallow soils poor in nutrients. These plants transform the land, making it more suitable for other, more demanding species that will settle there later. The ecological importance of these species is therefore remarkable. The Black Pine contributed to the reforestation of the “Karst Heath,” a stony desert that once stretched across Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia. In 2021, my watercolors were featured in prestigious magazines such as The Art of Watercolour and L’Art de L’Aquarelle, and in 2023 I won the First Absolute Prize for Italy at the Winsor & Newton Online Watercolor Contest.I regularly participate in national and international competitions and group exhibitions, where I do alap offer exclusive watercolor workshops. For solo exhibitions, I collaborate with EContemporary Art Gallery in Trieste.I was invited to participate in “Fogliage” in Monza as part of the prestigious exhibition of the International Academy of Watercolour, where I gave a live foliage watercolor demonstration. I am currently featured in the exhibition Trame di Luce in Frascati (2026).Two of my “Black Pines” watercolour series will be exhibited at Lilleshall Hall in May 2026 during the IWM International Watercolour Master 2026.
