Julia Ustinovich
Poland
I paint the human figure as a quiet territory of emotion.
Using translucent layers of watercolour, I search for the moment where presence begins to dissolve — where light touches the skin and reveals something unspoken.
I am drawn to states of stillness, to the fragile pause between breath and silence, where the body no longer performs but simply exists. Faces soften, edges blur, and the image drifts somewhere between appearance and disappearance.
My paintings are not about telling a story, but about holding a feeling — something intimate, fleeting, and almost impossible to name.
