My watercolours are born from direct observation, travel, and the changing atmosphere of a place. I am drawn to moments that cannot be held for long: moving light, wind, cold air, warmth, reflections on water, the rhythm of streets, gardens, harbours and northern landscapes.
Watercolour is the natural language for this search. Its transparency, speed and unpredictability allow me to work close to the sensation of the moment. I often paint alla prima and outdoors, where the image must grow together with the weather, the light and my own response to them.
My work exhibits Finland and a wider European experience, between urban encounters and quiet natural spaces. I am interested not only in depicting a place, but in preserving the emotional trace it leaves behind — a fragment of light, movement and silence.
