I am looking for interacting patterns and shapes, and above all, for some meaning that lies beyond technical ability, beyond brush work.

Painting should go deeper than copying nature and things as they are. An interpretation of the thing that's underneath --- what gives it life. Maybe I am trying to paint what cannot be painted.
Atmosphere and light are just the first steps. The painting could be more of a poetic statement than a literal representation? In the end, I am only jotting down simple marks, hoping to tell a story.
Painting is my meditation, my refuge. It exists in a timeless state.
One day I hope to paint something of significance.
