Through observing the processes of "decay" in both living and inanimate nature, I explore themes of memory and heritage, the mechanisms of emotional deprivation, and escapism.
The narratives and images that form the foundation of my artistic universe are closely tied to biographical experience: memories of the past intertwine with reflections on resisting physical disappearance while simultaneously engaging with the acceptance of this experience's inevitability.
In my artistic practice, I draw on classical art traditions. I place great emphasis on the technical execution: using collage techniques and layered material application to create a sense of illusion and expand the pictorial space.
