Rita DAUCHOT

Belgium

Rita Dauchot is a largely self-taught artist.

Her favorite subjects include portraits, flowers, and scenes inspired by Buddhism. While themes may evolve, her work is always guided by a tribute to life and the beauty of human beings and nature.

Rita Dauchot’s artistic vision is rooted in emotion, introspection, and a deep reverence for life. Her watercolor paintings are not mere representations—they are intimate dialogues between the visible and the invisible, between the subject and the soul.
Each piece is born from a moment of emotional resonance. She paints only what moves her, allowing the subject’s essence to intertwine with her own story. Through delicate washes of pigment and water, she seeks to reveal purity, tenderness, and light—stripping away the mundane to reach the heart of being.
Her work is a celebration: of humanity, of nature, of fleeting beauty. It is her corner of eternity, where sensitivity becomes strength, and art becomes a quiet homage to the sacredness of life.

Rita Dauchot about her watercolor

« A celebration that rises from within—an endless tale of love and passion. It’s a game, yes, but a solemn and meaningful one. An image of life in its most tender state: transparent, luminous, serene. Each painting is a tribute—an offering to someone or something—captured in its purest essence. I strip away the noise, the flaws, the everyday, and reach into the depths of consciousness, heart, and soul. From there, I gather the invisible threads that pigment and water will reveal, crystallizing on paper as emotion made visible. »
