Olumuyiwa Afolabi Olusola

Nigeria

My watercolor practice explores resilience, cultural memory, and the invisible threads connecting human experience across time and space. I am drawn to watercolor for its transparency and unpredictability its capacity to embody both fragility and strength.
Through layered washes and disciplined spontaneity, I preserve moments that hover between permanence and disappearance.
In A Pause in Time (Series I & II), stillness becomes narrative, suspending memory between past and future.
A Royal Welcome reflects ceremonial dignity and inherited identity, while The Link Bridge symbolizes passage and connection across emotional and physical landscapes.
In UP and BEYOND (series), three climbers ascend an anthill a quiet monument to collective effort, aspiration, and endurance.
Across these works, legacy emerges as something built through struggle, sustained by tradition, and renewed through shared experience. My paintings invite reflection on our place within an unfolding continuum where time is both witness and participant.
Stories do not fade; they stain the silence of time.
