Swedish watercolorist Helen Eriksdotter is the 2026 AWS Bronze Medal of Honor recipient at the American Watercolor Society in New York, with her work 'Adagio' currently featured in the AWS Traveling Exhibition.
Rooted in the landscape as both an inner and outer experience, her painting is uniquely shaped by her background as a classical flautist and alumna of The Juilliard School (Michel Roux Scholar). Specializing in Nordic Tonalism and painting 'alla prima' on Fabriano papers, she translates musical rhythm and light into atmospheric landscapes. Her work, also recognized in IWM (UK) and Splash 27, captures the spiritual dialogue between water, pigment, and silence, exploring transient moments where time seems to slow and space opens toward the contemplative.
