Galina Poloz

Moldova

I explore the idea of space in urban and natural landscapes. I don't fundamentally separate the city from nature, but the city is often embodied in linear or fluid structures, like a man-made structure. In both the city and the natural landscape, I am interested in the
light and air environment. In painting or drawing, I strive to capture
the density of air exactly as I would feel it if I were immersed in my painting.

Even when a pictorial composition is formed with a predominantly
linear structure, air remains in the voids, in the gaps, in the breath
of the fragile graphic structure. When depicting spaces, I want to depict the vibrations perceived by the body
and gaze of a person immersed in these spaces.
