I was born in Berlin, Germany and immigrated to the United States with my family at the age of five. I have always loved to draw and over the years, developed an interest in the medical and scientific branch of illustration. I decided to be traditionally trained in art with a major in medical illustration, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Applied Arts from Pace University, and did my Masters studies in Art and Art Therapy at New York University. Later in my career, I was very fortunate to study watercolors with internationally renowned Norman Rockwell apprentice and National Geographic Magazine illustrator, Pierre Mion.
I believe that true art comes from the soul. No matter what the style or subject, it's a reflection of the artist's most intimate feelings and thoughts. Those are not to be questioned - or changed. And if they are changed, it is because the artist's soul has opened itself up to something different - something new which it wants to share. When you experience a piece of my art, you are experiencing a part of who I am.
